Discord Orbs

Discord partnered with our team to create a launch video introducing Orbs, a new virtual currency users can earn by completing Quests through the platform’s reward based advertising experience. We developed a concept that framed the Orbs as a mystical object within a fortune teller inspired tarot card world, revealing the digital rewards players could unlock. As design lead, I helped shape the storyboards and visual narrative. I designed the tarot cards, UI cards, and the tarot card table environment, and collaborated closely with our in house illustrator and team to develop the design frames. Through multiple rounds of style exploration, we landed on a visual approach that blended Discord’s gaming energy with a polished sense of mysticism. The final animated video launched in app and on Discord’s YouTube channel, introducing Orbs to the platform’s community.
